There is renewed emphasis at the state and national level for Gifted and Talented (GT) programs. The DPI GT Consultant is bringing more visibility to the needs of GT students and requiring more accountability on the part of districts to meet Wisconsin requirements. CESA 4 works with the DPI to coordinate a GT grant which could benefit all CESA 4 districts. While all districts are required to name a GT coordinator, most of those individuals wear many hats and have limited time and resources to support GT programming. CESA 4 will provide support for the GT coordinator, assist with relevant research, provide information on differentiation and identification, and help coordinate activities at the regional level.
