Background Information: Her most recent work has been with an area school district where she initially worked as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. From there, she teamed with community partners in the development of the district’s 4K program, collaborated with specialists, taught in an inclusive classroom and was Curriculum Chair for the 4K program. Her career path also includes working as a Kindergarten Teacher partnering with Special Education staff and English Learner staff. She has served in a leadership role regarding Literacy Alignment as well as mentored teachers new to the district. Her 24 years of teaching experiences also includes work with Birth - 3 and Head Start. In 2011, she was awarded Early Childhood Teacher of the Year by the Wisconsin Division for Early Childhood (WDEC) and the Wisconsin Early Childhood Association (WECA) .
